Westmarch is probably not for your group

Unless your group is huge and love sandbox play.

I like talking about Westmarch because it’s close to how Gygax, Arneson or Jaquays used to run their game in the 70’s.

main group become huge
focus on eprsistent world
maybe several DM
precusor to mmorpg game night = raid night
Adventurer pick their dungeon from rumour in town
how to deal with different PC group sharing the same realm of adventure
Who reach the dungeon first

Westmarch are open table (ppl can comes and go)
but every open table don’t need to be a Westmarch
I ran an open table urban medival fantasy sandbow campaign I only had 1 group of player and exploration wasn’t the main focus. It was not a Westmarch.

Be scpetical of people trying to jump on a new buzz word to sell their game. They tend to bend the meaning to make it marketable. It become less pecific untill it doesn’t mean anything. It happened to “OSR” it’s happening with Westmarch it will happen again.
